Artisan Sakemaker, established in 2007 on Granville Island, is a unique commercial winery that produces award-winning, hand-made, small batch, and fresh sake. Our brand name "OSAKE" is widely recognized as "Canada's first locally produced fresh premium sake" and has gained popularity across the country and beyond. Our production philosophy revolves around sustainability, natural ingredients, and locality. We are the first and only premium sake winery in Canada, offering unfiltered and unpasteurized sake that retains its original aromas and flavors. We have successfully grown rice in B.C. and are expanding our product line to include condiments and cosmetics made from the byproducts of sake production. Our artisan studio on Granville Island is where we handcraft our "fresh premium" Junmai Sake, fermented from top-quality Japanese sakamai. Our small-batch production allows us to create versatile wines that complement the local west coast cuisine. Our tasting room provides a simple and intimate setting to showcase our unique sake offerings.
