Alternative Grounds Coffee Roasters

Alternative Grounds Coffee Roasters is a proud pioneer in the fairtrade coffee industry. Since 1995, we have been roasting only fairly traded coffees, even before fairtrade gained widespread recognition. We were among the first licensees of Fair TradeMark Canada, an independent fairtrade licensing and regulatory body established in 1998. Our commitment to fairtrade and freshly roasted coffee has helped raise awareness and promote the importance of ethical sourcing. As part of Cooperative Coffees and Coop Sol, we collaborate with other small-scale roasters and sellers of fairtrade coffees in Canada and the United States. Together, we directly purchase green coffee beans from small-scale producers and cooperatives. This cooperative sourcing model adds meaning and thoughtfulness to our green coffee procurement process. In addition to our artisan freshly roasted organic and fairtrade coffees, we offer a range of other products. Our menu includes vegetarian light lunches, sweet treats, fairtrade teas, organic and fairtrade chocolates, as well as coffee accessories and other fairly and ethically traded items. As an organic coffee roaster, we are proud to be fairtrade certified. Our sustainable coffee has received awards for its quality and ethical sourcing practices. When you visit our coffee shop, you can enjoy our delicious fairtrade coffee in a cozy atmosphere with mismatched tables and chairs. We also provide free WiFi for our customers' convenience. Thank you for supporting us and making fairtrade and ethical choices important.
