Aleppo Kebab is a renowned restaurant in Scarborough, Canada, founded by Zakaria Al Mokdad and Chef Anto, both of whom were refugees and now proud residents of Canada. Combining Armenian and Syrian flavors, the restaurant offers a delectable menu including falafels, kibbeh, shawarma, and kebabs, which can be enjoyed in the cozy ambiance or taken out. Zakaria, originally from Bosra, Syria, arrived in Canada with his family in 2016 after their restaurants and home were destroyed in the war. With the support of Canadian sponsors, Zakaria fulfilled his dream of opening a new restaurant in 2019. Since its opening, Aleppo Kebab has gained recognition as one of the best Syrian restaurants in Toronto, featured in prominent publications such as BlogTO, the Toronto Star, and NOW Magazine.
