The Humber River Family Health Team (HRFHT) was initiated in January 2011 by Dr. Art Kushner, the Chief of Family Medicine at Humber River Hospital. Dr. Kushner recognized an opportunity to enhance community healthcare by leveraging the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care's initiative to expand the Family Health Team program. In collaboration with 30 local family physicians, Dr. Kushner aimed to develop an inter-professional team to better serve their patients. The HRFHT offers a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare, including after-hours clinics, and is currently accepting new patients in Etobicoke, Toronto.
