ACTRA Ottawa

ACTRA Ottawa is a local branch of ACTRA, representing professional performers in the National Capital Region. ACTRA is the union of over 22,000 performers in Canada, working in various media including TV, film, radio, and digital media. Our principal role is to negotiate and enforce collective agreements to ensure equitable compensation and safe working conditions for performers. We also provide access to health benefits through ACTRA Fraternal Benefit Society. ACTRA is committed to advocating for Canadian culture and the audiovisual industry, and we work to expand work opportunities for Canadian performers. The Performers' Rights Society secures and disburses performers' compensation, while the Recording Artists' Collecting Society administers royalties for sound recording performers. We are proud members of the trade union movement and have ties with international and Canadian labor organizations. ACTRA Ottawa is part of the strong cultural union of 22,000 artists, dedicated to protecting our achievements and advancing our union.
