Aboriginal Peoples Television Network

The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is the world's first and only national Indigenous broadcaster. Its programming is created by, for, and about Indigenous Peoples and is intended for all Canadians and viewers worldwide. APTN's launch on September 1, 1999, was a significant moment for Indigenous Peoples in Canada. It provided an unprecedented platform for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples to share their stories with the global audience through a national television network focused on Indigenous programming.
