Abel Enterprises

ABEL Enterprises is a non-profit agency that has been serving our community since 1984. We specialize in custom woodworking and commercial furniture production, known for our high quality and progressive approach. Our mission goes beyond just providing excellent products - we also focus on fostering social entrepreneurship and providing employment opportunities for individuals with mental health concerns. With a team of skilled tradespeople, we offer skill development and training to over 70 individuals in our community. In addition to our workshop, we have the ACE Program, which supports individuals with mental health or addiction concerns in achieving competitive and sustainable employment. Our employment counsellors provide personalized assistance, including barrier assessment, resume writing workshops, interview preparation, job search strategies, and internet job searches. We also offer job maintenance support, access to non-profit resources and publicly-funded programs, as well as cash register training. At ABEL Enterprises, our members play an active role in decision-making, tailoring the program to meet their specific needs. Our ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life and social entitlement of consumer/survivors of mental health services in the Haldimand-Norfolk Work Group of Simcoe. As a non-profit and charitable organization, we are dedicated to providing work skill training and employment opportunities to consumer/survivors.
